PC startup, updates & performance
What does “current device is not supported” mean in Phantom Blade Zero?
The message cannot be diagnosed from the GPU name or “DirectX 12 support” alone. The game also checks graphics capabilities and device creation; driver faults, adapter selection or insufficient capabilities can trigger it.
Check configuration and environment first
Revert graphics or adapter-selection launch parameters you added yourself, preserving the platform’s automatic configuration.
On a multi-GPU PC, add the actual game executable in Windows Graphics settings, select the high-performance GPU and retest after restarting.
Install a compatible official GPU driver and available stable Windows updates. Laptop owners can check the manufacturer’s model-specific driver first.
What the capability check means
The official checklist includes Feature Level 12_0, Shader Model 6.6, Resource Binding Tier 2, WaveOps and required 64-bit atomic support. Lowering resolution cannot supply missing hardware capabilities.
If the requirements are met but the message remains, submit the GPU, driver, OS and complete dialog so support can distinguish missing capabilities from a detection problem.
