What kind of game is it?
Phantom Blade Zero is an action-adventure game developed by S-GAME for PC and PS5. You play as the swordsman Soul, progressing through a campaign that combines combat, side investigations, equipment collection and return visits.
Soul’s predicament
Soul belongs to the Organization but is accused of murdering its leader. Gravely wounded while fleeing, he receives treatment that leaves him with sixty-six days to live. His journey follows the conspiracy and encounters with former associates and people across the Wulin.
The Phantom World
The setting combines martial-arts sects and weapons with machinery, puppets, Sha-Chi modification and illusion. Dialogue, letters, books and memory flowers reveal different parts of its history and characters’ experiences.
How exploration progresses
Main routes connect encounters and regional finales, while branches lead to quests, chests and hidden locations. Weeping Creek Valley centres on the Outpost, Sha-Chi Tower and Great Waterfall; Crimson Forest adds the bandit camp, cliff houses and Mirrorwood.
Combat and Sha-Chi
Both sides have Sha-Chi. Sustained blocking consumes your resource, and depletion causes a guard break. Reduce the enemy’s meter without exhausting your own; switching equipped primary weapons replenishes Sha-Chi. Pay attention to attack warnings: Peng Meng’s black-light charge and slam require evasion.
Primary weapons and Phantom Edges
Primary weapons provide attack strings and traits such as bleeding or life-steal. Phantom Edges add ranged attacks, heavy strikes and summons. Match equipment to the encounter: ordinary bleeding does not affect the puppet bride, while Dread Axe helps reduce Jingye’s reflecting thorn shield.
Equipment opens routes
Dread Axe breaks chains, Feather Bow shoots down designated suspended objects and Hunter’s Chain Sickle uses fixed anchors; these interactions only require owning the tools. Flaming Mane and You Loong Head deal with wet and burning brambles respectively.
Equipment and permanent growth
Common upgrades use material families tied to equipment classes. Soul Temper uses dedicated items, such as 强韧弓弦 for Feather Bow. Sets of four Black Stone fragments raise attack and guard-break power; four Sha-Chi Amber fragments raise maximum Sha-Chi. Banyan Hearts unlock special ability nodes.
Quests and collections
Side quests reward equipment and can continue across regions. 玉儿 asks for three herbs in one quest and help for four injured thieves in another. Quick Hand Zhang trades regional treasures. Six 虚空 memory flowers enable assistance against Bai Chilian; five ribbons unlock a hidden phase in the 沐小葵 fight.
Difficulty and preparation
Choose a difficulty suited to your preference for story or challenge. Keep manual saves around regional transitions because quests can change as the campaign progresses. PC players should check hardware and SSD space; PS5 players can review control layouts, subtitles and accessibility settings.

Start with combat and exploration, then open the guide for your current region. Compare equipment effects and acquisition routes when planning a loadout. For a blocker, search by boss, quest or obstacle; regional guides connect routes, quest steps, rewards and return conditions.
