What should you install when Phantom Blade Zero reports a missing VC++ runtime?
If the error requests Microsoft Visual C++ 2015–2022 Redistributable (x64), install or repair Microsoft’s official x64 runtime and restart. The x86 package does not replace x64, and installing Visual Studio is unnecessary.
Choose the package
Get vc_redist.x64.exe from Microsoft’s official Visual C++ Redistributable download page and match the x64 requirement. Do not substitute an individual DLL from an unknown download site.
If also installing x86 support, run the installers sequentially. x86 supplies 32-bit components and does not replace x64.
After installation or repair
Close the game and launcher before running the installer. Use Repair when offered for an existing installation, finish the prompts and restart the PC before relaunching from the original platform.
If a different error appears, record the new dialog and diagnose that issue rather than repeatedly reinstalling the same component.
